Buck Creek St. Jude Trail Ride
On September 25-27, 2009, the best place for anyone to be is at the 11th Annual Buck Creek St. Jude Trail Ride on Weaver Farms at 92 Weaver Road in Alamo, TN. This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever before. Last year we had 442 horses, not counting the participants, attending our 10th Anniversary Trail Ride. Donations reached $39,790.00 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. This year, we are expecting an even greater crowd to celebrate the eleventh year of this ride being held at same location as last 2 years. Everyone is invited to attend. We have hay wagons for those without a horse.
Our entertainment this year will be featuring Colt Ford (www.coltford.com) on Friday night and Bobby Marquez (www.bobbymarquez.com) on Saturday night with Daryl and Kathy Holder with DJ Music every afternoon. Upon arriving at the entrance gate there will be an entry fee of $10.00 per adult (13 years and up) and $5.00 per child (5-12 years). This gate fee covers the entire weekend. Entry fees will be waived for a $100.00 donation per individual or $200.00 donation per family. A registration form must be signed at the gate for entrance. After entrance, turn in your donation collection at the booth set up inside and your entrance fees will be returned and collect your incentative prizes. St. Jude gives the following prizes for donations: $20 lapel pin, $35 Saddle Up T-Shirt & pin, $75 Saddle Up Cap, T-Shirt & pin, $150 Saddle Horn Bags, Cap, T-Shirt & pin.
Coggins papers will be strictly enforced at the entrance gate, so make sure you have original papers with you at entrance. A photo copy will not be accepted unless it comes faxed directly from a veterinarian with his signature approving the fax. Out of state horses must have an official health certificate within 30 days and official coggins papers. There will be no exceptions!!
A schedule of events for the weekend will be listed below and handed out at the entrance gate. Rita Burner, photographer, will be present all weekend taking photos of everyone.

Faith Pentecostal Church of Friendship will be serving various home-made foods such as: white beans & cornbread, "real" French Fries, hot wings, and much more. Crockett County Carl Perkins Center will be serving "grill fresh" hamburgers and hot dogs. These groups are supporting St. Jude as well as raising money for their own charitable needs. The food will be great, so please eat, eat, eat!!!!
Sunday afternoon there will be a short ride for those staying over.
There are so many individuals, stores, businesses and companies to thank for the success of the trail ride each year. Each and every one of you that play a part in this event can be very proud that everything big or small that you did means so much to so many. Thank you all very, very much.
Let us never forget that St. Jude treats children without regard to race, religion, creed or ability to pay. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. Since opening in 1962, it has treated children from all 50 states in the United States and more than 70 foreign countries.
